Del Maguey is the brainchild of Ron Cooper. With the help of indigenous Zapotec Mexican Indian producers from the remote villages of Oaxaca, Del Maguey uses ancient, original organic processes, and the varying micro-climates and terroir gives each expression a unique, rich, sweet and smoky character. Every product is made by individual family palenqueros (producers) in old-style villages.

Tasting Notes: Light on the nose with citrus overtones. Roasted pear, tropical fruit, spice and wood with a clean dry finish.
Details: Crafted from 8-10 year old agave Espadín, roasted with Mezquite, and oak wood for 4-8 days. Distilled in a copper pot still.
About Mezcal
Mezcal is a distilled spirit made from roasted agave plants between two days and two weeks, which gives it a distinct smokey flavor.
What scotch is for whisk(e)y, mezcal is for tequila.
It can be made from different types of agave in different parts of Mexico, but most of it (60%) comes from the state of Oaxaca. Mezcal offers a large diversity of flavor profiles and ranges between 40 and 55% ABV.
